Sunshine is a family operated not-for-profit child care provider that has been providing superior school-age child care programs in Broward County since 1992. All of our programs are licensed and insured, and operate under the policies and directives of the Division of Children & Family Services and the Broward County School Board.

Sunshine is one of the highest rated After School Care Programs in Broward County. Our outstanding programs are recognized for meeting and/or exceeding the quality standards set forth by The Children and Family Services Licensing Department, the Broward County School Board and the Broward County Children Services Council. 

We currently provide over 3,000 students with a wide variety of educational and recreational activities in our After School Care, No School Day, and Camp Programs

Who we are

Our mission is to have highly trained, professional staff that is cheerful, responsive and nuturing and have created an environment where they can stay motivated to continually create a positive & successful learning environment for the children in their care.

Sunshine takes great pride in our extensive & professional ongoing training programs in an effort to make sure we offer the highest quality, safety and supervision in our Child Care Programs.

Safety is Sunshine’s #1 Priority

Since 1992, Sunshine Child Programs has passed all licensing inspections, and makes sure to always followed all guidelines with staff screenings, and does not start any employee until they are cleared by all background screenings through the State of Florida & Broward County.

Development

All full time staff is required to take 45 hours of Child Development coursework and receive their certification for a CDA. We provide company scholarships for our staff to continue their professional education and receive their Child Care Director credentials.

Screening

Sunshine strives to maintain a low student-to-staff ratio by hiring staff that meets and/or exceeds the qualifications set forth by the Children and Family Services Lisencing Division.
All of our staff must be at least 18 years of age or older, take & pass drug testing and be fingerprinted along with extensive local and national screening performed by the FBI.

In addition to this, Sunshine makes sure that all employees go through a yearly screening, in an effort to continue our concentration on safety.

Sunshine values the safety process and recognizes the importances of this as part of the safety for all of our children. We value highly all HRS inspections, and are proud to say that we have passed with 100% safety rating with all of our school and city locations, year after year.

Our Human Resources Department is skilled and trained in the hiring process and we offer yearly ongoing professional training on Safety, Security, First Aid, Behavior Management, Pediatric CPR, Child Abuse & more.
