Sunshine is a family operated not-for-profit child care provider that has been providing superior school-age child care programs in Broward County since 1992. All of our programs are licensed and insured, and operate under the policies and directives of the Division of Children & Family Services and the Broward County School Board.

Sunshine is one of the highest rated After School Care Programs in Broward County. Our outstanding programs are recognized for meeting and/or exceeding the quality standards set forth by The Children and Family Services Licensing Department, the Broward County School Board and the Broward County Children Services Council. 

We currently provide over 3,000 students with a wide variety of educational and recreational activities in our After School Care, No School Day, and Camp Programs

    Camp Sunshine! I hold this camp near and dear to my heart…. I've had the pleasure of participating with this camp at Fairway Elementary for 2 decades. My 21 year old was at this school and camp and now with my 10 year old. This camp … More is fun and exciting and my kid anticipates everyday. The calendar is on the fridge and she runs downstairs every morning to see what the day holds! When school is over she literally does a countdown from the days to the hours left until Summer camp. My kid wants to be the first at camp and doesn't want me to come until 5:30 -45ish, because she's enjoying herself that much! The staff are all super friendly and welcoming. You're greeted with the same energy Monday- Friday morning and afternoon. They know the kids by name and that makes it a bit more personable and homey!     Not only do I work for Sunshine (Colbert) but my daughter attends Fairway Elementary for summer camp and aftercare. Fairway staff is top-tier and treats her like their own. She loves going to camp! Each summer the PBL end projects always … More seem to amaze me just to know how engaged she is. She comes home every night telling me how her day went and how excited she is for the next day. Her counselor, Ms. Leah has a great relationship with all her students they speak highly of her and you can tell she loves what she does. The administration staff from the area manager, site manager, and the front desk is very attentive to any concern that is always addressed immediately.     Sunshine is impressive with the amount of safety and security they provide for our son. (Check in, check out, ratios, etc..) He has a great time in summer camp and often asks to stay longer. With field trips 2 times per week, lunch, … More snacks and all the activities, the camp is really quite reasonable as well. His counselors have been amazing in the 4th grade group and we are always well informed by the weekly newsletters and email. It has been a great experience. As a former camp supervisor, I have been impressed with the service from Sun Shine! 5 stars for sure!

Who we are

Our mission is to have highly trained, professional staff that is cheerful, responsive and nuturing and have created an environment where they can stay motivated to continually create a positive & successful learning environment for the children in their care.

Sunshine takes great pride in our extensive & professional ongoing training programs in an effort to make sure we offer the highest quality, safety and supervision in our Child Care Programs.

Safety is Sunshine’s #1 Priority

Since 1992, Sunshine Child Programs has passed all licensing inspections, and makes sure to always followed all guidelines with staff screenings, and does not start any employee until they are cleared by all background screenings through the State of Florida & Broward County.

Development

All full time staff is required to take 45 hours of Child Development coursework and receive their certification for a CDA. We provide company scholarships for our staff to continue their professional education and receive their Child Care Director credentials.

Screening

Sunshine strives to maintain a low student-to-staff ratio by hiring staff that meets and/or exceeds the qualifications set forth by the Children and Family Services Lisencing Division.
All of our staff must be at least 18 years of age or older, take & pass drug testing and be fingerprinted along with extensive local and national screening performed by the FBI.

In addition to this, Sunshine makes sure that all employees go through a yearly screening, in an effort to continue our concentration on safety.

Sunshine values the safety process and recognizes the importances of this as part of the safety for all of our children. We value highly all HRS inspections, and are proud to say that we have passed with 100% safety rating with all of our school and city locations, year after year.

Our Human Resources Department is skilled and trained in the hiring process and we offer yearly ongoing professional training on Safety, Security, First Aid, Behavior Management, Pediatric CPR, Child Abuse & more.
